Canada Vacations

One of my intended trips is to Canada. It's such a vast country, it's hard to know where to start. There are great cities and terrific scenery on Canada vacations. I would definitely head for the Rocky Mountains. They are set in a beautiful landscape with deer ambling thru the pine forests and lovely lakes. What a place to dip into a hot spring. There are a number of activities available such as mountain biking and kayaking. I'd like to do some cross country skiing in the winter, but I'd have to get fit first.

Calgary sounds an interesting town. It boasts the biggest rodeo show in the country. You can climb up to the top of Calgary Tower and get a great view of the town from the observation deck. Vancouver is an impressive city, encircled by the mountains. It's typical of the variety of attractions offered on Canada vacations. There's great shopping and excellent restaurants. It's also famous for its artists' workshops and markets. There is a Chinatown that has gymnastic displays on Sundays, and a first class Museum of Anthropology and an Aquarium. Stanley Park is worth a visit, just to see the enormous trees.

Toronto is another city I'd like to see. It has a really good nightlife and designer fashion shops, museums and theatres. It has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with different ethnic districts. There's a Chinatown, Koreatown and a Little Italy. There's also a Greek neighborhood. Canada vacations are never short of scenery, and Toronto has a lovely waterfront on Lake Ontario.

I would also like to visit Quebec City. It has a fascinating history and you can see the legacy left behind in the historical district by the British and the French who fought for supremacy. It's the only walled city in the whole of North America. You can take a cruise down the river, visit the incredible Chateau Frontenac and view the entire city from the high vantage point of Cape Diamond.

Everyone who goes to Canada should see Niagara Falls. I'm told the sight and the sound of them are truly memorable and the highlight of Canada vacations. The Falls are 54 meters high but it's the force of the water that's awesome. You can take a cruise or fly over in a helicopter. They're illuminated at night and there are firework displays. There are other things to do apart from viewing the Falls. You can visit a vineyard or go to the Botanical Gardens which have a big collection of butterflies. There are golf courses and you can fish on Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
