Free Vacation Accommodations For Your Next Trip

Thinking about taking a vacation?  Maybe the price of a bed and breakfast or staying in a hotel is what is holding you back?

Now you have the opportunity to not only be able to stay somewhere for free, yes you read that right - no cost involved - and you get to stay in a home.  Your home away from home.  What's the catch you might wonder?

All you need to do is exchange homes with someone else.  You can even exchange cars too.  So you save on the cost of car rentals as well.  This makes traveling to faraway destinations much more affordable for everyone.  Now, you can vacation in places you never could have afforded to otherwise.

You can now live like a local while you vacation absolutely free in places like
California, Paris, the Bahamas, Italy, Canada, the Colorado Rockies, or how about Australia?   Stay at a beach house, an apartment, a villa, a cattle ranch, or just a family home.  The possibilities are endless!

As a means of affordable vacationing, home exchanging was born in
Europe over fifty years ago.  It all started with teachers in Switzerland and in the Netherlands swapping homes for their summer vacations.

For the last twenty years it has gained in popularity and it is now estimated that more than 60,000 people worldwide will take a vacation this year while taking advantage of swapping homes to save money.

Vacations can be very expensive if you need to rent hotel rooms.  Why not take advantage of this great way to travel and stay in a private residence with all the comforts of home?  A home away from home, rather than a business like atmosphere of a hotel with the sometimes unfriendly or rude staff members.

Anyone that has a home or apartment can participate in a home exchange.  For example: if your home is in Michigan and you wish to visit Australia you simply exchange homes with someone in Australia and your only expenses now are travel, meals and any souvenirs you wish to purchase.

You should also think about the fact that, while staying in a hotel you will most likely eat out for your meals.   This will be expensive and can very quickly add up.  On the other hand if you exchange homes it provides an enormous benefit of being able to buy groceries and cook in a real kitchen, just like at home, which can also provide huge savings.

Some of the ways to find a home exchange:

1.  You can post a message to any appropriate newsgroups

2.  You can run a small classified ad in a local paper distributed in the area that you wish to exchange to

3.  Or, you can join a reputable home exchange organization some of which can be found online.

Worried About The Safety Of Your Home?

Swapping homes with someone is based on trust.

There are no guarantees that your home won't be trashed.  But there really is absolutely no reason that anyone would trash your home.  After all, if you consider that they are trusting you with their home too you realize that it would make no sense for them to damage yours.

An established membership based home exchange business has been in business for 22+ years and they state on their site that they have never had a report of any thefts or destruction.

Besides being able to save on all of the costs of hotel rooms and meals another point in favor of home exchanging is that having someone staying in your home can be much safer than leaving it unoccupied.  Empty homes during vacations are often an invitation to break-ins and theft while you go on vacation.

Saving money while protecting your home from a break in are great incentives to consider trying a home exchange for your next vacation.
